OH CRAP!?!?!?!

So people are constantly asking if we LOVE our new house. Well, it's not LOVE yet. There are still so many issues that the builder hasn't fixed and at times there is pure HATE for this home we built. Yesterday was one of those days.
So, a brief overview. We moved in during the spring months and we got LOTS of rain this spring which resulted in our basement flooding due to some mistakes by contractors. WELL, we've been in the house about 2 months and this issue has yet to be fixed....grrrr!!!! So yesterday Davis came home from church around 2:30 (we were supposed to be to his parents by 3:00 and we also had plans with his grandparents at 7.) The wonderful person he is, noticed that our grass was dying, despite the water we'd been giving it. So, worried that the sprinkler system was malfunctioning, Davis went downstairs to once again find our basement completely flooded. We hadn't had rain, so we assumed it was the sprinklers. I'll be honest I do not know all of the specifics nor do I want to, but about 10 minutes after realizing this our A/C turned off. WHAT?!?!?!!? (Remember it's nearly 100 here and it's going to push past 100 TODAY!) So Davis called a friend from the ward who basically asked how high the water was. Davis told him pretty high, so this friend said, "get the water out and call me back." So Davis went back downstairs this time noticing the drain in the basement wasn't draining the water. So he figured it was plugged and went and got a plunger in hopes of un-clogging it. Well, he got what he was asking for (plunger and all....LOL) the hole started bubbling...he figured it was working so he kept trying. Soon I watch him run upstairs and says, "Do we have an emergency number for "Builder" (name will be held back FOR NOW!!)" I told him to call our home teacher (since he used to work for said builder.) Well, he couldn't get ahold of him, so he called the realtor we worked with (also no longer with said builder.) He then goes on to inform her that POOP is coming up out of the hole! (thus the name of the post!) She was able to track down the owners and they gave us permission to get Roto-Rooter out to "fix" problem. I retrieved my parents shop-vac to clean up mess (Davis is so wonderful for cleaning it up, since I nearly puked when he opened the door to the basement.) I then proceeded to hangout outside to avoid such a smell. Once the water was cleaned up, Ryan Jones (friend mentioned above) came over to inform us that our furnace sucked up water and was "no longer functioning!" So we are "roasting" in a house that is in the 90's AND smells like a TOILET! Yes, I HATE this house right about now!

The Broughs (home teacher) came over to help Roto-rooter guy out (since he was having a hard time getting to the sewer line. Mike is wonderful he made many phone calls to contractors to get the information we needed to fix this. (If he hadn't roto guy would need to come back on Monday.) So I got to hang out with Chaundelle and her kids while the guys dealt with the mess. So, our house still stinks and it's hot! I am hoping that Davis can get someone out there today to fix the a/c problem and bleach/clean the basement. At least BUILDER is footing bill!!!!

Sassy sweetie!!

I just had to give this it's own post since I was so shocked she said this. This morning while I was making pancakes, Ady got into the pantry to "find something else." She didn't seem too happy with my breakfast choice. I said, "Ady, get out off the pantry." The little snot turned to me with the sassiest voice ever and said, "I'm just looking....YOUR HIGHNESS!!!!" emphasizing with more snottiness the your highness part. Gosh, she's only 3 I seriously can't imagine how much worse she'll get by 13. UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also, I had no clue what to say...I had to pick my mouth up off the floor!

Poll..vote please and feel free to comment

I put a vote on the side of my blog since I think it's fun to guess. I figured I'd post too so you can comment if you want. I personally think it's a boy but sometimes secrectly hope it's a girl. Davis has asked with much curiosity if it's a girl are we DONE!??!!? There is a VERY good chance of that. Even if it's a boy we could be done, but we'll see. So vote away, we find out in a few weeks for sure. I decided I hate to wait so I'll just find out. That way I can prepare and decorate Ady's room (since she'll be sharing.)

New Cousin

Davis' cousin Becky had her second daughter today. Isn't she cute!!! Her name is McKayla Joanne and weighed 8 lbs (and some ounces, but I didn't get the exact number from Aunt Mindy.) 21 inches. She was 2 days past her due date and everyone is happy and healthy.

I'm doing something wrong!

So, I can get Matthew to tell me when he needs to go poop, and he will poop in the potty. Ady will poop in her underwear take it off and sit on the potty for a minute and tell me she pooped on the potty. Ady on the other hand hasn't had very many pee accidents. She has done really well at going pee on the potty. Matthew pees in his underwear, runs to the potty take underwear off and then sit son the potty and says, "I go pee pee in the potty." UGH!!!!! What to do?!?!?! Now if only I can get Matt to pee in the potty ONCE! LOL and get Ady to poop in the potty. She did well for a little while, but that was short lived.

So any suggestions. I seriously can't remember potty training Tanner, it was over 4 years ago.

Faces of War

I know the war in Iraq is controversial, but I just got this picture of my cousin Anson (he's the one holding the door!) I just want to say how proud I am of him and how courageous he is to be putting his life on the line for me and my family!!!!! I also am so proud of his sweet wife for taking care of those 3 little kids all by herself!!!!! She is awesome!

Come home safe, I love you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Twins?!?!?! LOL

As you know from the last post I didn't go to church yesterday, but when Davis got home from church he said, "Hurry, check your email." "HUH?!?!?!" I quickly obeyed and found this picture and started laughing hysterically!!!!
For those that don't know, this is a picture of Carson (Sam and Carrie's boy) and Tanner. They show up to church at least once a month in the same shirt/tie/vest/sweater...you name it. Last week I decided to get Tanner a new shirt and it came with this cute tie. It was the only one in his size at Wal-mart (that was white.) Davis said he pulled up to church at the same time as the Sweet's (they also have the same van as us...different color.) As Davis and Tanner get out Davis said Carrie started laughing out loud. He soon realized why?!?! LOL So he took the boys into the clerks office for this picture. I think we'll have to start calling each other in the morning Carrie. I'm a bit nervous now that they are in the same 2nd grade class.....I hope this doesn't happen often and they get bullied. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Potty training overview

Ady did really well this weekend with the potty. She only had accidents when she went to Grandmas and the ward party. She does great at home, but not so great anywhere else. Any good tips on this would be appreciated. Matthew on the otherhand didn't really pee in the potty once. He would generally pee in his undies run to the potty, take his undies off, sit down, flush toilet(his favorite part) and put clean undies on. So we mostly threw in the towel on him. We also realized Friday night, after he'd woken up 3 times that he was teething (two year old molars) and completely miserable. He doesn't like to wear diapers though, so we've had him in Ady's pull-ups off and on. I think we will "try" undies when I am home and have time to focus more on him. I really think it'll be a work in progress and it's going to take much longer than 3 days. Oh well, if we can do it in the next 6 months, I'll be happy. I just can't wait for it to "click" with him. It's totally clicked with Ady and the few accidents are livable.
Ady is pretty funny though. She doesn't really like to poop on the potty (though when she does it she is sooo proud of herself.) So the other day she said, "Mom, I want a diaper please." I told her she was a big girl and had big girl panties, that she didn't need a diaper. She then said, "I just need it for a minute. I need to poop, then you can have it back." LOL I told her to poop in the potty and we haven't had the issue much since. Though she does get pretty upset when Matthew gets to wear one and she doesn't.
So, we are getting there. We avoided church yesterday and really hope Ady is good to go next week. I'm also hoping Matthew will feel better soon. Okay, secretly I don't really WANT to take them to church, but "I" want to go! If I could only find a sitter for an hour and 15 minutes. Oh by the way....sacrament meeting is still AWEFUL! I really dislike having to take care of all 3 kids by myself. I keep telling myself I need a better attitude but in reality I need quieter kids AND LOTS more patience....any suggestions. LOL

Potty Training Day 1

So, a lady in the ward sent me a booklet on how to potty train in 3 days. I should've known better when it started out saying you need Love, Consistency, Dedication, Positive Reinforcement, Patience and Focus.....this is sooo not me!!! LOL! So by 10 o'clock in the morning, I'd cried twice, cleaned up 12 accidents and Matthew's drink mess. He dumped a whole gallon of juice on my floor. Thanks Matt! I texted Davis informing him I'd given up, this was not for me!!!!! I probably would've done better training just Ady, since as of 6:30 she has only had 3 accidents. I lost count of Matthew's after 15. She hasn't pooped yet, so I'm waiting for that. I finally got them down for naps at 12:30 and I felt much better when they got up around 3. Unfortunately or Fortunately, we had a birthday party to go to, so I tossed pull-ups on and headed out. As soon as we got home the panties/underwear went back on. By the time Davis got home, I was EXHAUSTED!!!! The kids won't go to bed for another hour in and a half, and Davis leaves in 1 minutes. So here is my quick and pathetic update. I REALLY hope tomorrow goes better. I need to work on my patience!!!!!!!! UGH!

This is the Place!!!

Every spring our Relief Society goes to This is the Place Heritage Park and takes care of the flower beds next to the Relief Society building. This year Carrie has been AWESOME and she's gone up MANY times to make sure it looks fabulous. Last night we had an enrichment to plant flowers. We had a wonderful turnout and it took us about 15 minutes to plant. LOL We then taled and had strawberries and donuts! mmmm!!! Toni did a great job supervising and tkaing pictures for me! Thanks cutie!!! Not sure why you didn't want to get the big ol preggo tummy down there. hahahaha!!!!!

Carrie brought her adorable boys with her and at the end Carson collected all of these "beautiful rocks" he then told me I could take them home. It was funny.

Scooby Doo where are you?!?!

The other day Ady begged to put Tanner's Scooby Doo costume on. I think Tanner found it in his closet and brought it downstairs. So here she is happy as can be dressed as Scooby Doo!

Good job Tanner, doing your homework!!!!

Party!??!!?

Last Saturday, Davis and I went to Ikea for a little while. We had Davis brother Trevor come watch the kids for us. While we were at Ikea I joked with Davis that I wouldn't be surprised to find Scott (Trevor's twin) there when we got home. Well, we pulled up to the house and saw Scott's car there. There were also two other unfamiliar cars at our house. We walked in to find a ROCK BAND jam going on. I guess 3 friends came over to play rockband. I thought it was funny! They stayed for about an hour and then went to a dance.

Park

We went to the park a little while ago. The kids love walking to the park and playing in the sand and with bubbles. I didn't get pictures of them playing with the bubbles, but here they are in the sand.

This dog came and played. Tanner LOVED it, Ady was okay with it.

Messes!!!!

This made me laugh. Ady has an icecube stuck to her lip. She wasn't happy!!! LOL
I didn't make it downstairs fast enough and Ady decided to make pancakes for breakfast. YUM!

Matthew eating icecream....what a messy kid.

Clothing?!?!?!

This is another difference in my kids. Matthew hates being changed. He'll wear the same thing over and over again. If we attempt to change him he screams (unless of-course he is getting ready to take a bath or shower...he then can't get them off fast enough.) The only exception is if he gets wet. He does not like to be wet. I think a small part of this is Davis' fault. Occasionally I'll pick the kids up from daycare on Monday and they'll be wearing what they wore on Sunday...meaning...no jammies Sunday night, no change of anything but a diaper Monday morning....thus feeding Matthew's clothes problem. I also notice on Tuesday, they will occasionally be wearing the jammies I put on Monday night. LOL But generally on Wednesday Dad is forced to put them in clean clothes!!! LOL Ady when she is home will generally change 1 to 2 times a day....yes she is a girl!!!! Tanner is a bit boyish like Matthew and thinks things can be worn over and over again, EVEN if he takes them off for the night. A few weeks ago (or so, can't remember) Tanner and I had a conversation that went a bit like this. Mom, "Tanner, did you change your underwear this morning?" Tanner, "No!" (M) "Will you please remember to change your underwear this morning." (T) "Why? I've worn them since Monday and they seem just fine. I didn't pee pee in them." (this will be Thursday....ewww!!!!) I then explain to him that underwear (even if it doesn't seem dirty) needs to be changed daily!!! BOYS!?!?! So this brings me to this morning. Davis had to go to work early and I was in charge of getting the kids off to school and daycare. Since Tanner is nearly 7, I generally have no need to help him. Well, as I open the car door to let him out at school I notice a huge stain on his pants. (M) "Tanner, there's a stain on your pants." (T-rolling eyes and sighing as if to say, "you are so dumb sometimes Mom") "It's from the ketchup and mustard last night MOM!" I nearly slammed my palm into my forehead with a "DOH!" I instead smiled and said, "Have a nice day!!!!" I guess we will have a small conversation tonight about wearing dirty clothes. BOYS!?!?!?! I seriously do not understand them!!!!!!!

As for pictures. I have plenty of random ones on my camera. I keep forgetting to down load them. I will try to do that this weekend. Also, say a little prayer for me. I will be attempting to potty train both Ady and Matthew starting Thursday morning. *sigh* I just need to buck up and do it!!!!! I will try to post my saga Thursday night and I'm sure Friday, Saturday and Sunday night. I then hope all is well for daycare on Monday. I have a packet that says they can be potty trained in 3 days! hmmmm!!! We'll see!

Different is good!

I haven't been feeling very good lately, so this morning breakfast was a bit of a "slack" on my part. Around 8:30 Ady and Matthew were hungry (and since I was checking my email) they decided to help themselves to a snack. Ady emerged from the pantry with Oreo cookies, Matthew had craisins (he thought they were raisins.) I helped Ady re-choose a snack and started to think about the differences in my kids. Ady's three favorite things would be cookies, chips (doritos) and popsicles (coincidentally those are Davis choices.) Tanner on the other hand will choose fruit over most every other snack choice. But he loves popcorn and cookies n cream icecream. Matthew loves all food, but he prefers raisins (and now craisins) for a snack but also loves baked goods. Homemade cakes and cookies don't last long with Matthew (these are Mommy's downfalls too.) Oh I forgot one thing that Tanner LOVES. Tanner loves banana bread. Anytime we have an "icky" banana he say, "Look Mom, the bananas are icky, we should take them to Carson's Mom." (Carrie's brought us banan bread twice and Tanner LOVES it. I attempted to make it using the same recipe and it flopped. Yes I know I should try again, but oh well, another day.)

Every Mother Deserves.....

......a child that likes their cooking. :) LOL Around dinner time the conversation goes like this. "Tanner, please set up the chairs." (repeated 3-4 times) Tanner then saying, "What's for dinner?" Mom's answer...Tanner replies with gags of disgust (though he has never tried this particular dinner.) Soon Ady follows suit with the gagging. Next Ady announces (or Matthew) to the house that "Dinner's Ready!" and there is a mad dash for the chairs. We fight over who gets to say the prayer and this occasionally ends with 3 prayers!! I place plates in front of the children, sit down and sigh. Matthew soon says, "More please!" (man I love this kid.) I proceed to get up and dish him more food. Ady decides that since Matthew ate it (reminds me of the Mikey "Life" commercials) she can try it. She proceeds to eat all on her plate asking for more. BRAVO! Tanner eats the fruits, vegitables and turn his attention to the "food" on his plate. Thanks to my fabulous brother in law Jeff (who is also extremely picky) Tanner quickly takes a bite and washes it down with whatever beverage is in front of him. He proceeds to do this until his beverage is gone (at this point he attempts to leave the table with a half eaten plate) I then refill his cup and say, "Keep trying." At this point Matthew is on helping #4. Ady is usually done and off running. Tanner finally finishes, Matthew finishes, I proceed to clean off the table and put the chairs away and sit down for a moment. Not more than 5 minutes goes by and Tanner walks into the kitchen proclaiming, "I am hungry, can I have an apple?!!?" UGH!

Slip 'n' Slide

My parents bought a slip n slide, so we went and played. Since this was the first "swim" of the season, I wasn't sure which suits would fit whom. Well, Matthew's 2T fell off so we were lucky to find some undies in Grandmas closet, so don't mind his "suit." He has one left over from last year that had better work. LOL

This is one of the only pictures of Ady. She's got a thing with water. She had fun, but not the same as the boys.

OKAY OKAY, this is my favorite picture. All BOY with his hand on his butt! Ah, that Matthew.

Natural History Museum

So yesterday Tanner's class went on a field trip. Davis was very nice to watch the kids so I signed up. Then yesterday Davis found out he had a training for a "contract" job so I was sunk. Luck for me, my niece Alexis was down with my parents and happily agreed to watch the little ones! YAY!!! She's the best. Here are some pictures. I took TONS, but will only post the ones that JUST have Tanner in them.

It was so much fun!!!!
