BACK FROM COURT!

What a lame court date :) We waited almost an hour to see the Judge. The Judge walked in and said, "This is a pretrail, who wants to go first?" Our attorney got up and said, "We are working with the other attorney on a compromise, please don't send us to mediation. Let's set a trial date." The Judge said, "Okay, how about 45 days or so." The Guardian Ad Liem got up and said, "Can we get it done quicker?" The Judge said, "I have July 20th open, is that good." All parties said "yes" the Judge said, "We have a recess until July 20th."

We all look at each other and whispered, "Is that is!?!" Yup, we left the court room, our Attorney scheduled a meeting with the other Attorney for July 5th.

"Now what happens?" You are most likely wondering. Well, our Attorney said he's talked to the other Attorney and he's "hoping" after the July 5th meeting (which by the way is with only the other foster family and the Aunt that petitioned.) That with hopes the two parties will come to a compromise and the Aunt will "drop" her petition. "IF" that happens, our attorney is going to push to have the July 20th date turned into an adoption date.

We'll keep you posted.

More Malad Pictures.

Our trip to MALAD!!!!

Our little family went to Malad on Friday. We went to visit a friend of mine named Melyn. I met her on a website for parents who've had stillborns. I've met her once before (she came to Salt Lake.)
It was a nice drive up and her log house is GORGEOUS!!! Tanner got his first close up encounter with a horse and he got to ride it too. One of the funniest moments was when we went outside and Tanner looked into a pen and said, "What's that?" Travis (Melyn's hubby) chuckled and said, "You've never seen a sheep before!" LOL I told him we were city folk and didn't have sheep in our town :) We also got to enjoy seeing a goat and cows. We sure had a great time. Here are a few pictures. I'm including a lot in another post for Melyn to copy. Hope you don't get tired of seeing them.

This is me and Melyn.

Ady had a ball playing in Chloe's carseat.

Tanner's first time on a horse.

Adylin is a climber!!! Yesterday she decided to climb up to get a dice and the ants :o I was scared she'd pull the ants down and uh-oh!!

Yesterday we went to the library (after Mom, Adylin and Matthew had a nice nap.) Tanner refused to lay down. On the 5 minute ride home Tanner fell asleep. I tried to get him out of the car, but no luck. I finally got him to come in and noticed him sound asleep on the stairs :) I thought it was pretty cute!

Yesterday ALSO... a lady in our ward came over with her daughter who has Cerebral Palsy. Aubree LOVES babies and likes to "watch" Ady, Tanner and Matthew during church. She can't speak, but she always gets really excited when she sees the kids. She's never gotten to hold Matthew, so we let her while we could supervise. Ahhhh, notice the HUGE smile on his face. He just smiled and "talked" to her. She grunted and ahhhed back at him. I'm sure their sweet spirits were communicating. It was a very neat moment. I told Marie, "It's moments like these that make it enjoyable."

B-E-E Spells Bee.

We get together with two other families in our ward on the 3rd Monday of each month for dinner, FHE lesson and dessert. Yesterday we were at the Sweet's house and they have some hornet nests on their basketball hoops (a big one and a little kid one.) Well, not long after we got there, Sam pointed them out to us and the kids. He told them to leave them alone, that hornets sting and it hurts. Each parent reiterated it a few times. Well, soon the two boys, Carson and Tanner started throwing a basketball at one of the small hoops. We stopped them and reminded them that there was a hornet nest and that hornets sting like bees. We told them to stop and play somewhere else. A little while later, they were throwing rocks at the nest. We stopped them again and said, "You REALLY need to listen to Mom and Dad, those hornets will HURT you and you will be sad." We were sitting around talking and Tanner came running up to me. He had his shirt sleeve up by his mouth and tears in his eyes. I asked him what was wrong and he said, "They stung me and it hurts!!" He then started to scream. I took him too his Dad so he could restrain him while I looked at it. We put honey on it (someone told us too.) and ice. It didn't look too bad at first......

I had a hard time feeling bad for him and told him if he would've listened to his Mom and Dad, he wouldn't have gotten hurt. A little while later I looked at it and it had swollen more...it made me sad for him, but I was hoping it was a good enough consequence......

I started to worry a little after it got REALLY big.

Now if you ask Tanner if we bother bees (hornets or yellowjacksets) he says, "No way, it hurts!!!"

Last Friday I was trying to prepare a potato salad to take to Chris and Becky's. WELL, Matthew would NOT let me put him down. I tried everything, the swing, bouncy, floor. The swing was in the kitchen with me and i turned around and saw Tanner sitting in it. My first reaction was to say, "Tanner, get out of there, you are too big and will break it!!!" Instead I seized the opportunity and plopped Matthew in his lap and finished the salad. Tanner said, "MOM, what do you think I am, a Rocking Chair?!?!" It was funny!

Matthew was blessed on June 4, 2006. I was too busy to take pictures, so I figured I would dress them up the following week and take pictures. WELL, Adylin got pink eye and an ear infection, so I didn't take the babies to church. SO, this week, I got up early, got the kids ready and took a few shots of them. Here they are. ENJOY!

OH! and a big THANK YOU! to Grandma Deb for making Matthew's outfit and Tanner's vest. They turned out GREAT!

Adylin wouldn't cooperate, so I took a few of just the boys. My Little Men!! So cute.

Here are a few pictures from Adylin's birthday party. She turned the BIG ONE!! and we had a great time. The theme was Tinkerbell and the little girls had tiaras, wands and wings. The boys got to be Peter Pan with hats and swords. There was plenty of food and yummy cake. Sorry to all those that missed it.

As for an update on the adoption. Davis and I go to a pretrial hearing on June 27th to see what's going on. A great aunt has filed for adoption on all 5 kids. We will find out how the courts want to proceed. It's a little frustrating since this Aunt has already been thoroughly "looked at" by DCFS and been denied.
I will post an update as soon as we know more.

The other day I was sitting on the couch in the front room and Tanner asked if he could have an otter pop. I told him yes, that he needed to get one for Ady and eat it outside where I could see them. He's so smart. They sat at the door and "waited for Dad to get home."

We have started to smile! Here are the first photos of Matthew smiling. Sorry the last one is a little hard to see, my photo skills are a little crazy.
Matthew is all boy. While he is nursing, he will lift his leg and fart. Then he'll look at me and smile and LAUGH. I can't believe it, he's only 3 months old. This is a picture of the smile and laugh he gives me when he "releases gas."

Just some fun things. A few days ago, Adylin was taking a bath and she kept pointing to the shampoo and then "washing" her hair with her hands. She did it until I washed her hair. When I said, "Do you want Mommy to wash your hair?" She smiled and said, "Yes!" It was really cute. She's getting soooo big.

Matthew is ALL boy. While he is nursing, he lifts his leg and farts. He then looks at me and laughs....no joke! and he's only 3 months old. I think we have our hands full with this one.

Tanner is Tanner! He really misses being in school and asks me everyday when kindergarten starts. He also REALLY wants to go to the zoo. I got a season pass, I just need to take him. There were some GREAT days last week, I'll have to check the weather this coming up week and set a date.

I'm attempting to start a blog. I was talking to a girl in my ward about her blog and thought, "That would be GREAT for my family to see the kids and know what's going on." So here is goes.
I had the kids EASTER pictures taken..FINALLY! As you can see, Matthew is bulging at the seams. His "preemie" outfit has shrunk :) Just kidding, his getting SO big. I did two sessions with the kids, since I had set the first session up and "forgot" and sent Tanner to Vernal with my parents :( UGH! It turned out great. Tanner had a BLAST and I got Matthew's pixs done and Ady's pixs done. I even got some of Adylin's first birthday shots. Unfortunately, the lady taking the pictures was REALLY far behind and she forgot to give me the "internet" option, so I don't have those pictures electronically. SO, the second set of pictures we got all of them together, Tanner and a bunch of Matthew and some of me. Here are my cuties.

Here's Matthew.
