July 2012

I think I have tried to update this 3 times now and blogger has been awful and dumped ALL of my updates!!!! It is now September and I will attempt one more time to update this. SOOOOO SAD, I just realized my phone month of July is blank too....seriously! July really was an awesome month, but I can't remember every little thing. I am so sad!!!! Oh well, such is life. JULY
2-4-Family camp with the Harrington Cousins!! This was awesome, we had so much fun with my cousins. The kids loved all of the activities. Bennett made a new friend....I always love when cousins become friends. Bennett asks when he gets to see London again and it's sad to say I don't know. The highlights of this trip for me was all the talking. I got to talk to my baby cousin Bree, who is expecting her first baby (okay Krew is here now, but only because it's September!!! LOL) It was great to talk to her. I especially loved the talks with my cousin Trish. It was MUCH needed. She really helped me open my eyes a bit and heart. She suggested a book and I am trying to read it. It's been tough, I probably need to call her soon. I also loved talking with Kristy and Aunt Louise. I got to see my cousin MaryAnn and her cute family. I don't even remember the last time I saw her, sigh. We met new friends and just had a great time. I love my Harrington cousins and feel so blessed to have them in my life.
6-Splash pad and lunch with Asialene. This was a much needed talk too. I love this girl. The Smith's hold a special place in our hearts. They are the friends that no matter how long it's been you can get together and feel like you saw them yesterday and your relationship is still as strong as ever. The friends that you would go to the other side of the country to visit even though you hadn't known them long. And the ones you hope to go visit in Brazil....wink wink! I got side tracked....let's just say we talked and talked and talked. Neither of us wanted to part. It was sad when we had to say good bye. But we have been better about email and hopefully we can get the timezone down and talk on the phone once in awhile. Davis and I also went to the temple. It was an interesting experience and not one I will mention here. 8-Tanner turns "11" We didn't do a ton more than the basic "favorite dinner" and cake on his real birthday, but he got to go to a Blaze game with his Dad and friend Carson (and Carson's Dad Sam) I heard it was great and he was super happy. He also got a new bike from my parents.
12-Girls Camp bishopric night! One of my favorite nights of the year. It did not disappoint. The food was fun, the company fantastic and the fact that I was clean and not sleep deprived....priceless!
20- Dinner with the Kords and their families. It was wonderful. Megan did a great job!!! So nive to have such great friends. We need to do this more often. 21-Ward breakfast.....always good. Can't wask for a better ward. 24-Holiday
25-Tanner starts 6th grade, Ady 2nd grade and Matt 1st grade
29-5th Sunday dinner with the Blomquist side
I know we hit seven peaks a few times but I seriously can't remember everything.

JUNE
5-Matt's last day of Kindergarten.  He got the distinguished cub and was very proud of himself.  He is super excited for 1st grade.
6-School is out for the Summer, Ady got the flu and missed the last day of school.  She was super bummed. She also got distinguished cub and worked super hard to get it.  Tanner enjoyed his last day of 5th grade and is really looking forward to 6th grade.  I hope this year will be less stressful and he can do better in school.
7-Pack Meeting-Tanner got his Weeblos and Arrow of Light.  We had a science theme and it was super fun.
8-Holly go the flu so Davis missed the High Adventure camp...I was sad since I knew he was looking forward to it and I had some fun things planned with the kids.
9-Had Jay's kids for the morning.  Ady and Aiden are now the best of friends.  After the wedding we had lunch amd visited.  It was great to see them, but too fast.
14-Tanner got new glasses.  He is happy to be able to see better.
14-16 Camping with the Williams and Woods....soooo much fun.  We went up on the 14th just our family.  It was great, not too crazy.  Davis and I both commented on how nice it was.  We then went fishing in the morning and Warren decided to run into the lake, grrrrr.  We went back to camp and waited for the Williams and Woods.  We even got to go geocaching, which was on our summer bucket list.  Bennett started throwing up so Davis took him and Warren home to sleep, having to come back in the morning to help pack up.  We went to Cascade Springs....so wonderful I think we will do that again.
16-Father's Day dinner with the Strongs....good times!!!!
17-Father's Day, stayed home from church with Ady, Bennett and Warren, something is going around.  Made Davis breakfast and dinner.  Played some games, all in all a relaxing day.  Lots of laundry was done....so needed to be done.
19-Watched neighbors kids so they could go to a wedding.
23-Grandma Strong 90th birthday. Such an amazing woman! It was wonderful to see all the cousins that had come in from out of town.
Dinner with Amber Barnes....moving to AZ.  I will miss her!!!
26- Deb's birthday.  Celebrated with dinner at Kiersti's.  Met the Walker's and lots of missionaries from Trevor's mission. I have to say it was a but difficult for me. I think a part of me has pretended it didn't happen and he's still on his mission.

Adylin's 7th birthday

Ady got a birthday party this year.  These are her invites.  I blew the balloons up with a hand pump and wrote the info on it.  We had fun delivering these to her friends.
 The table of treats!

The bling they got when they came over.
These cookies were cute and super yummy!

 Happy crazy Birthday girl!!!
One of the crafts.  I had tons of crafty stuff for them and they had so much fun with it.
We had cake/icecream cupcakes.  They were a hit and super easy.
Happy Birthday sweet girl!  Adylin is such a joy to have in our family.  She is very kind and empathetic.  Super helpful and willing to do what needs to be done.  Tries to make everyone happy.  She loves school and her friends.  She likes to toe the line when it comes to everything.  She pushes to see where the line is and when the consequence will occur.  It drives me crazy but we are learning to figure it out.  She did really well in 1st grade and is super excited for 2nd grade.  We love our little "Angel".

Yurting!!!!

May 10-12 we went camping up East Canyon with the Williams.  We stayed in a Yurt and it was awesome.
 Lots of fishing was done.

We want to Yurt it somewhere new every year.  We wanted to do Goblin Valley this year but we were too late booking it.  I'm thinking that will be our next year yurt!!!!

MARCH
3-RS stake activity! Loved it, yummy food, great classes, fun company!! The Parenting class needed to be much longer and it was much needed. The service project was fun but we didn't finish which our little group was super bummed about.
5-Matthew turned "6". Oh boy, he wanted mac and cheese, broccoli and green grapes for dinner. He also wanted chocolate/chocolate cake. Mom wanted to make it a Beyblade cake, but the darn thing fell apart, oh well, he loved it. He got new Beyblades. Took donuts to school and was crazy happy all day long. In the morning he came into my room and with the biggest grin on his face said, "Mom do you know what today is....it's a special day?" I guessed all sorts of things and his smile got bigger and bigger until I said his birthday. I then told him a little about when he was born.
7-Bennett parent teacher conference
9-Games with Mike and Mindy. Yummy food, warm weather and then a good movie for the kids...but most of all Dominion. A new game that Davis and I are obsessed with. Anyone want to play?!?!?!
10-Hollywood connection with the kids for Matt's birthday. He wanted to go mini golfing. We had lots of fun skating (okay the kids didn't like that part since they fell down so often) mini golf and rides. Perfect family day!
14-Day of green....we had fun making leperchaun traps.  The leperchaun brought treats and coins but didn't get trapped.  Lots of glitter was used and it was a MESS!!!!
16-Kids go off track-Went to friends for dinner and games. Played Dominion....we are so addicted, ordered it that night!! The kids had a ball playing outside and then when it got dark and cold they came in and watched Puss in Boots. Kids love show!

20- Got Dominion...it's a game and we are addicted!!!! Davis also got an Ipad for his early birthday present. man that boy and his electronics.
21- Took the 3 youngest to eat at Sizzler....man they love that place. Too bad after the first plate Matt got a bit quesy and pale. This kid has such a soft stomach sometimes. Grrr!
22-Went to McDonalds for lunch with the Seelos. Told matt we could do McDonalds once while the kids were gone. Bennett lost his car and I seriously thought the temper tantrum would be awful, but he surprised me. Way to go Bud!!!
Davis and I went to FASTRAC for a date. He rode into work with a friend and I picked him up from work. We had a groupon for a 10 minute race (each) and pizza. The race was fun, but I was too cautious and scared. Maybe if we go again at some point. I'd rather he go with some friends and I watch. the pizza was nasty but oh well, I didn't go for pizza. Big thanks to Kaylene for watching the kids. Poor girl had a nasty blowout with the boy that should be potty trained. UGH sorry!!!!
23-Went on another date with the Hubs! Oh yah! Got to go see Hunger Games. Oh man, such an awesome movie. Still makes me sick thinking about it. Went with the Seelos and had icecream after. Such a good time and a cute new babysitter...so happy!

Miniture Golf-Hollywood Conection

On Saturday we took the kids to Hollywood connection. Matt wanted to play mini golf for his birthday and I just happened to have a groupon. YAY! We all got to play a round of mini golf, skate and unlimited rides. I don't have pictures of skate, but boy was it sad. My kids seriously couldn't do it. It made me sad to see everyone there and hardly any kids or teenagers could do skate. Skating was big when I was a kid and everyone could do it. Ahhh, the things that have changed.

Davis took the kids on bumper cars so I got to hang with Bennett and Warren. They climbed this bench and the fence. I was busy.

We rode the carousel many times. There were many animals that Bennett wanted to ride.

We rode this balloon ride, sorry no pictures, but you can spin it. I rode with Ady and she spun spun spun. I was so dizzy and slightly sick. Tanner on the other hand was with Matt and he got off and ran to the restrooms.....poor thing. He wasn't quite the same all day. Next time Ady and Matt get to go together and I get to go with Tanner.
We golfed first so I took pictures, then I just forgot and got busy. Ady, Matt and Tanner went ahead, leaving Davis, Bennett, and I to play. Warren sat in the stroller most of the time. It was nice.
Cheater....Bennett loved all the dinosaurs.

Warren loved all the water. After this he went into his stroller, it was too much to watch him and play.

We had a lot of fun!!!!!

Beyblade Tournament

Sorry no pictures, but I had to document (for my kids in the future) a cool mom moment!!!! So for those that don't know what a beyblade it, you are missing out!!!
So I lied here is a picture of beyblades, they spin around and "battle", last one spinning is the winner.
My boys are HUGE into them. They got loads for Christmas and a beyblade "arena", sorry no pictures, google it if it's important. So, Tanner had been bugging me to do a Beyblade tournament, he wanted to invite friends over and "battle". I kept making excuses and then finally caved. I made silly invites and he took them to school. The day finally came and the boys were SOOOO excited. We had over 10 boys at our house and boy did it get LOUD!!!!! I had to hide in another room to chat with some of the moms that hung out for a bit. Warren was actually sleeping when it started, poor kid, didn't get to sleep long. He got back at them and very stealthily grabbed beyblades while they were battling. Oh the complaints that came from that, priceless.
All the boys told me how, Cool of a Mom I was....yes, I had to write it down so when my kids complain about how uncool I am I can remind them....do you remember when?!?!?!
