2011.....2012

As we all know 2011 has ended. I want to say this is a good thing.....that 2011 was a ROUGH year......because it was, but to be truthful the change from December 31 to January 1 really isn't a big deal. The best thing is knowing that there is another day upon us. It does bring with it the realization that you have a ton of weakness and so much that needs to be improved on....okay at least I do. I think of all the things I wanted to do in 2011, that didn't get done and think, oh I will put them on my imaginary roll over list.
I know that in 2012 I want to simplify and organize, but I'll be real honest with you, it's not going to get done as much as I would like. There are a few reasons for this and one of them truthfully is anger. The fact that I haven't resolved my anger over our move is quite honestly a damper in my life right now. Don't get me wrong I am in a much better state of mind than I was in November or December but I'm still struggling with this change. I am having a really hard time seeing past my trials and finding the blessings in my life. I have a hard time getting past what I want and don't have and appreciating what I do have. I was talking to someone one day and she told me that I need to be more grateful for the small things in my life. I decided to go home right then and there and write down 5 things I was grateful for....it was a rough day and I was able to write down two very pathetic things, but two things nonetheless....my kids are healthy and Davis and I are healthy. It was all I could come up with at the time. But it was something right?!?! Well within 24 hours all my kids and both Davis and I were sick. GREAT! that idea back fired. I got past the frustration and have been trying harder to write down one good thing a day. I haven't done it every day, but it's a start.
So instead of a year in review or a list of things I need to improve on, I am going to steal an idea from Becky's blog and write down the things I all ready have planned for 2012. Hopefully I will be good and update it as things happen or as plans change. It will also remind me of the present I gave my parents for Christmas "A year of fun with Grandma and Poppie" so if some things seem strange, that's why.

I am so sorry things are rough. Life is rough and hard to get through sometimes but better to get through it rather to just get over it. You are one blessed lady who is so loved and appreciated. I know we don't see each other often but you are a dear and special person.

I say, wallow in your anger and frustration, really let it out and talk to it. This helps instead of just trying to "get over it". This has really worked for me instead of trying to pretend to myself and others that things are fine.

You are strong (Pun intended) :) Love you Holly...(Jay says this too)
