It's a.....

................BOY!!!!!!!!

Warren Andrew Strong was born Sunday, December 5, 2010 @ 4 pm. We came in at 10 am dialated to a 4. They started my antibiotic (group B strep...I was positive with Tanner and they don't bother culturing me they just treat me now) got my epidural and we waited. The on call dr told me I had to wait 4 hours from the start of my antibiotic before they would break my water, so we waited and waited. After I got my epi I was at a 6 and stayed there until just before they broke my water. Once my water was broken we waited for my dr to show up, 2 contractions later he was born. My mom took some pictures and before we knew it he was taken to the nursery for a "bath". We only got to see him for maybe 30 minutes. After hours and hours of waiting a nurse came in and told us they needed to take him to the NICU. HUH?!?!? We were shocked. I guess his stats were dropping, he was lethargic and they couldn't get him to respond to anything. We were floored and it was totally unexpected. Thankfully the nurse brought him to us for a quick hug and kiss before he was taken away. Davis was also able to give him a blessing, which reminded us we didn't have a name yet. We spent the whole time waiting for his "bath" discussing names with whomever came and Davis' facebook page...LOL. We had been talking about Warren for awhile and I was pretty sure that's what I wanted, so it was settled before he was whisked to the NICU.
So basically Warren tested positive for Coombes, we still aren't 100% sure what that is. But it has something to do with the RH Factor and his red blood cells. Now, everything is fine, he has been weened off oxygen, he didn't need antibiotics or the jaundice lights (we were originally told he did.) Now we are waiting for him to eat what he's supposed to so we can completely ween him off his iv and come home.
Not sure if this all made sense, I'm pretty tired and haven't slept well the last two nights. I will try to get better pictures from my Mom. I went in to feed him today and realized I didn't have any pictures so I hurried and took these.

Congrats on another boy. That is too bad that he has to stay in the NICU for awhile, I hope everything is ok. Let me know if you need help with your kids.
