This week has been awesome but difficult. I took Bennett in for his 5 day check up and he weighed 6 lbs. 1 oz. and 20 inches. It was funny, at 19 inches he was our smallest baby, but for some reason he was too long for most of the clothes we put on both Tanner and Matthew....so when they measured him at 20 inches, it made a lot more sense. He's figuring out the eating thing, but his days and nights are turned around. Davis has been awesome about staying up with him at his most alert 10 pm- midnight. It gives me the chance to catch a few zzz's before I have to feed again. He sleeps his best (like me) between 5 am and 9 am. Lucky for me Davis has been good about getting the kids up and going. A few mornings last week he had to be to work @ 7, so my awesome Mother has been coming and picking up the pieces for me!!!
YAY FOR MOM/GRANDMA!!!!!!!!!
YAY FOR MOM/GRANDMA!!!!!!!!!
Saturday I thought I would be amazing and take the kids pictures. Let's just say crazy is a much better work than amazing! I seem to forget that it's only been a week since I had a baby and I take on too much. Davis had gone to play football and I assumed he would be home by 10 at the latest....10:30 rolled around and I had bathed/showered dressed kids but no Davis. Luck had it that my Mom showed up just as I was hoping in the shower and she helped get the kids settled and Ady dressed. She even brought the baby to me for a quick rinse and got him dressed. I then cleaned up to take a picture and found Ady and Matthew at the table "coloring". Ahhhh, Matthew, you are lucky I love you since when I say you like this, not only did you cry when we took the markers away but mom mearly cried knowing pictures were most likely not going to happen. Davis was able to get the majority of his face, so I decided to put myself through the torture of pictures. LOL!!!!

So I started with Ady, since Matthew was still crying and Tanner was mad I made him put a shirt on that "I" wanted him to wear! But, isn't this the proudest big sister you've ever seen?!?!? Speaking of Ady, she has been a trooper. She's extremely helpful and such a good listener (when it comes to helping me with Bennett.) She seriously can't get enough of him. She will sit and hold and kiss him all day long. She's even very good about not picking him up on her own (something I really worried about.) She protects him from Matthew, whom isn't as good about not picking him up. We have had a few close calls and luck has it Mom's always close by to "catch".

I have worried that Matthew would have a hard time with Bennett and really he ADORES him and loves him very much. He is more cranky and not sleeping well, but he sure doesn't take it out on Bennett. That's what Mom and Dad are for. LOL He did snuggle with me the other day and I think it made a BIG difference. He even climbed into bed with Davis this morning (something he hasn't been able to do since Bennett came home) and he had a big grin as he curled up with Daddy. This picture is an ideal moment in Matthew's life. He kisses him 24/7 and Bennett usually is looking for a feeding. LOL
Speaking of feeding. I had to throw this picture in. Matthew has truly been fascinated with Bennett's form of eating. Well, Matthew has an "outie" belly button and the other day he decided Bennett was hungry......pulled his shirt up and shoved his mouth onto his belly button. It was hilarious.
Last is Tanner. I would say he likes Bennett but is the least impressed by him. I can rarely get him to hold him for me, or help out. If I put Bennett into the bouncer, Tanner will at least pretend to keep an eye on him.
I like this picture, too bad the binkie is in the mouth.
This was a prectice run....so cute!
Add baby....not so cute! Not sure if you noticed, but Bennett is wearing a different outfit. After the first few shots of him being with Ady, I picked him up only to realize a few minutes later that he peed ALL OVER me warranting a change of clothes. So I decided to feed him before I changed him, hoping to calm him down a bit. Well, it wasn't more than 2 seconds after I put his new shirt on that he spit up ALL OVER it. Oh well, you can't tell and I wasn't going to change him AGAIN.

Not only are THEY done but so is Mom. I guess we'll try again later!!!
On to other pictures. Matthew is growing up and decided to dress himself. Yes, those are Ady's panties under his jeans. LOL!!!! And no he is not potty trained. We are going to work on it, since he's had some nasty diaper rashes lately.

Tanner came home from school the other day with this cute project he was so proud of. He hadn't been home for more than 10 minutes when he started to cry, because Ady and Matthew broke it. So Mom glued it the best she could and encouraged him to take pictures of it. I then took pictures of him with it and explained to him it would be going in the garbage soon and we would have pictures to remember it by.
I love hte details and his wonderful spelling (gets that form his Dad.) I had to ask him what Paitck was and he informed me...Pacific Mom! Okey Dokey....I guess he got most everything else right. That darn Paitck Ocean!!!!!

okay the part about the belly button was seriously funny.
Congratulations!! I feel bad we weren't able to make it to the hospital. I talked to Davis today about bringing you guys a meal on Tuesday. If that doesn't work for you let me know.
I totally thought the picture of Matthew feeding Bennett was a picture of you and you know what!! Then I read the story!! I am so glad it isn't a picture of what I first thought it was!! :)
