Boys

My boys make me LAUGH a lot. Matthew is such a unique and fun child. He's always been in Ady's shadow a bit and most people don't realize he's around...including me. But the last little while he's been my buddy, He's been super helpful with Warren and Bennett. A few weeks ago Bennett and Ady had a sleepover at my mom's and Tanner had a sleepover at his friends house. SO it left Matt. He was seriously bummed to be left out but I explained to him that it was HIS time with Mom and Dad. He got to choose snacks, dinner and even whip out the new wii game before everyone. He talked non stop (and hasn't stopped since.) He got to play monopoly jr with Mom and WON. He was loving it. I also forget how grown up he's getting. He's going to kindergarten in the fall and we went to orientation. It's funny to me, when we took Ady and Tanner they were jumping off the walls wanting to go to kindergarten. Matt was too until we got in the car. He confessed he was scared and then the tears started. I was so taken back and didn't expect it at first. I went with him to the "kids area" and told him I'd wait in the back. He finally started to have fun so I stepped out to turn in paperwork. When I got back he was all smiles and told me all about it. I really hope the first day of school doesn't have tears.
So yesterday this character came downstairs and I couldn't hold back the laughter. I said, "Matt what are you wearing." Matt, "My pants, you told me to go get dressed." At first I thought he'd put Ady's capris on but no, they are Bennett's 2t pants. HAHAHA that skinny little man. He didn't even mind posing for some pictures...I still don't think he knows what was so funny. He wore these all day. Crazy guy! On a side note.....we go through tons of bread at our house....Matt could eat a dozen pb&j's a day if I let him. So the other day he decided to make himself toast for lunch, I was on the computer and he brought me this piece of bread and said, "Mom, why is the bread green?" He'd never seen moldy bread and I'm still not sure how it happened. We never have bread long enough to mold. The only thing I could think of that it wasn't rotated well and a new one kept getting put on top of it. hahaha the best part was it was warm because he'd all ready toasted it....why oh why didn't he question green bread from the begining?!?!

This guy refuses to take naps, has for a LONG time now. It's super annoying and he gets super cranky. He then will fall asleep at weird times usually after 5 or 6 and then sleeps for a little while and is up ALL night. grrrr, so after the kids went to bed he begged for a popsicle and this is how I found him....PUNK!!! Luckily he slept through Davis putting him to bed...not sure if he came in last night....I was super tired.

So Bennett is obsessed with shoes. He is very particular about which ones he wears. My mom bought him some a while back and the whole first day he refused to take them off.....even for bed. Davis laughed and said, you know he's going to want to wear them to church tomorrow....he did and we didn't fight about it. He wore them for a few weeks before I hid them and all he had to choose from on Sunday were his church shoes. I have learned to hide shoes so that he will wear the ones I want/need him to wear. He doesn't usually like his church shoes, but the last few days that's all he will wear....ugh. Guess they need to "go away" until Sunday. He also loves to be "pretty" he is constantly bringing me Ady's hair bows and such to put in his hair....the other day he came down wearing Ady's "fluffy skirt". It makes me laugh because he is such a BOY, I keep saying this is his sensitive side and he will learn to pick out cute clothes for his wife.

Thank You Katie!!!!

So anyone that knows me well, knows that I am not creative. I am not stylish or a good decorator....it's okay I know it. But, I do know how to cheat on occasion. I am okay at copying something....but coming up with it, no way. So when Ady came home from school on Monday with an invite to a birthday party, I groaned. I hate spending $5-10 on a toy that you know is going to be put away, broken or thrown in the heap of other stuff. So after a few days of stress and just before I broke down and ran to Walmart, I remembered my friend's blog....she'd just made some cute embellished flip flops for her daughter, so I looked it up and to my joy she had some cute jewelry she'd just made her daughter for Easter....score!!!! So I called her up and begged her for her secrets. Since she's not only creative, but super kind she told me her secret...thanks Katie, you are amazing and wonderful!!! So off I went. I dragged Matt, Bennett and Warren to 3 different stores, collecting my goods. Katie then checked up on me to see if I needed help (see what a great friend she is....) she then came over and gave me some much needed advice. Her cute daughter even made the final decision on what type of fabric flower (I think creativity runs in the genes, so maybe Ady has a chance.) I am super proud of my finished product.....oh and since I am super crazy and realized I not only had no wrapping paper at 10 pm tonight and no cute gift bags, I scrounged through my "crap" I mean craft closet and made this fun bag to put it in. The super cute necklace....can I say I love the "Bead Farm" in Gardner Village....I so wish I had more time to spend there without 3 crazy boys under foot....big thanks to Matt for entertaining Benno outside since no strollers were allowed. This darling necklace cost me about $1.50 the necklace was all ready done, I got to choose the flower and they put it all together for me...oh happy day!! Since I couldn't just give this little girl a necklace, I grabbed more flowers and then went to the fabric store and got some cute fabric. I was super nervous because I am not so talented in the matching/cuteness area. But I think I did pretty good. Sorry they are a bit blurry but they are hairpins. Last but not least the cute cute flip flops. I am so in love and want to make me a pair. I have tons of fabric left, since I didn't know how much to get. So all in all this present (minus the bag since it was all leftover from other projects) was $7 ($10 if you count ALL the fabric but I only used a small portion of what I bought.) How cool is that? I think I am going to have a happy 6 year old tomorrow....and a sad one if I don't get Ady's done. I bought extra for Ady so she can match.....what 6-year old doesn't love matching with a friend?!?!!

Sweet Blessing

I have to say that I am so grateful that I have a Heavenly Father that loves and watches over each of his children. I truly believe this and know that miracles do happen. Tonight was one of my worst fears. I was getting ready to go to mutual. The kids were super excited to go to the neighbors house so I sent Ady, Matt and Bennett off...they of-course wanted to walk. I yelled to Matt and Ady to make sure Bennett got to "E"s house safely, that they were to watch him. I went back inside to grab Warren and the rest of my stuff. I headed out to the car. I didn't see the kids anywhere and assumed they made it to "E"s house. I popped Warren in, got in the car and switched it to reverse....seconds later I heard a horrible scream...slammed the car into drive....park....and rushed to the back of my car to see Bennett on the ground screaming. Without thinking too much and shaking uncontrollably I grabbed him and layed him in the front seat. I got to "E"s house just as her son and husband pulled up. I yelled to her son to open the door and in a panic yelled to "E" that I'd just hit Bennett with my car. She rushed to him, we noticed his foot was swelling, his pants were torn and he was screaming. She ran and grabbed Warren out of the car and I headed to the ER calling Davis on my way. He cried most of the way there, he was shaking like he was cold. I was shaking. I silently prayed over and over.....first thanking my Heavenly Father that he was alive and second that his feet/legs would be okay. I rushed him into the ER where they took him back immediately. After a quick look over they said he was okay, but they wanted to do a full x-ray to make sure. They were pretty sure his ankle was broken, but not sure on his leg or foot. Davis arrived soon after...luckily at this point I was a bit more calm, more sick to my stomach that this had happened. To make a long story short, the Dr came back in and told me that the xrays came back and amazingly nothing was even broken. We were so incredibly blessed tonight. My Father-in-law had come to help Davis give him and blessing. I'm also sure he was there for me. As they were doing xrays I stepped out of the room with my Father-in-law. He smiled at me and said, "I know exactly what you are feeling. I ran over Trevor (one of the twins) many years ago. Thankfully he was okay, nothing broken just bruising." We had a nice talk and when we went back in we had a nice talk with Davis, since Davis remembered it. We also realized that today was the Twins birthdays. I KNOW without a doubt in my mind that we were blessed to have everything turn out okay on their birthday and we are so blessed to have them serving so faithfully on their missions. Thank you Trevor and Scott for being so faithful, I know by your service our family was blessed today. I am so grateful for the gospel and a kind and loving Father in Heaven. I am also grateful for the YW Camp Challenge to read our scriptures and pray morning and night. I know that because of this my life has been blessed. I Love You Bennett....Mommy is sooooo sorry!!!!! Get better soon.

Climb Climb Climb....

...wait a minute didn't I just have a post like this. Well it was Tanner's turn for climbing higher. Let's just say I got there just in time to take his picture and give him a hug.

WAY TO GO TANNER!!!!!

And I can't forget brotherly love. I know I've said this a hundred times, but Bennett LOVES Warren. Here they are snuggling on the chair together. Bennett wants to hold Warren all the time, so I let them snuggle and watch tv for a few minutes. Notice the blanket...Bennett hates blankets but he will use one if Warren is involved.

Happy Birthday Matthew!!!!

So, for a few months I have two 5 year olds. Matt turned 5 on Saturday. The celebrations started on Thursday when he went to sleep over at my parents house and a movie on Friday. Saturday he wanted a party. So he got his first friends party. (Saturday night we went out to eat with Davis' parents at Matt's favorite place too eat...Sizzler, he was super bummed they didn't have chocolate icecream this time.)
He had a few small requests....one....chocolate cake and icrecream...so I made him an icecream cake. It was a total last minute thing so nothing fancy, but he loved it and that's what counts.

His next request was pinata. Man these are a waste of money. Oh well, I told him he could get it. He also requested certain people at his party. He was specific on who to invite and who not to invite. It was funny because we spend a lot of time with our neighbors, they have a boy Tanners age a girl just older than Ady and a girl 18 months younger than Matt....anyway he told the oldest boy he was NOT invited (because originally it was going to be a Bakugan party and said boy doesn't like Bakugans.) He told older girl, no girls allowed, but her little sister could come. LOL At first he wanted an all boy party, but then couldn't figure out how to invite Ella to an all boy party and since Ella couldn't be the only girl we had to invite Afton (our other friends that have boys just older than matt and Afton is just younger.) He was hilarious in choosing the guests. But if you asked him enough he'd give in and let EVERYONE come. So we kept it to the smaller kids.
Bennett LOVED it too.
This is a great picture of Ady...if you can't tell she is jumping in the air. Her first swing took the hangy thing off the pinata, so it came crashing down. Davis tied a noose around the head to finish it off. Pretty funny!
Presents, he loved all his presents.

Games, Tanner was AWESOME at planning games and he loved being in charge of them. It also gave Mom time to finish cake...LOL. This one makes me laugh since one of the boys put his sticker (on accident...yeah right Cooper) on his um, crotch!
So a little tidbit about Matthew. He prefers to be called Matt! He was super bummed to find out he couldn't go to kindergarten the Monday after his birthday, he wants to go sooooo bad. He hates doing chores and has to go potty the second you tell him to do something he doesn't want to do. Loves to wrestle with Tanner and can get pretty rough....teases Bennett like CRAZY! He is my tease. Is very deaf to mom and dads voice....but if you yell at him or get in his face because he's not listening....will cry and say you hurt his feelings. Goes with the flow and only causes trouble when he is super bored....will generally entertain self...borders on anti-social. But, he's my favorite Matthew ever. He's almost always happy...will eat whatever I am serving and say he LOVES it! Loves his Mommy, but also loves one-on-one with Grandma and Poppie.

Quick pics

My mother in law is super talented and makes each kid a few blankets and this time I got a fun outfit or two for Warren. :) The larger one (not shown) is an identical pattern to the one she made for Addison that Adylin got to wear. When Warren gets bigger I'll try to take a picture like this one of Ady.

Cute little guy.

As for pictures. My parents took Matt on a mini vacation to St George. I only have two pictures since I wasn't there, but Matt had a ton of fun. His only compaint was not getting to swim, but it was an outdoor pool.....good decision Gma. I told him maybe next time. :)

This picture makes me laugh....he seriously needs a haircut Aunt Hiedi. :)

Climb Climb Climb

So Ady finally brought home the paper informing me that I need to be to school the next day at 8:40 am for the climbing higher award. She of-course was super excited until she found out she wasn't going to climb anything. She was looking forward to climbing real high....higher than everyone. LOL So we get to school (thanks to Erica for letting me drop the other kiddos at her house) where after about 10 minutes of waiting Ady turned to me and said, "I'm bored can we go home?" SIGH...she finally got her award and then said, "Now can we go home?" (I only wish we could).....after we waited for the rest of the kids to get their award, then it was time for group pics. NOW ARE WE DONE, nope they then need to tape for the Friday tv thingy....re-read all kids names and what they got award for....NOW ARE WE DONE? We thought so until the lady in charge exclaimed, oh no, the microphone wasn't on. So we proceeded to call all kids BACK to the library, half had gone back to class....wait wait wait....get kids settled and in spots again....re-tape, get half way through names (this is the best part. keep reading...) a kid on the second row starts dry heaving....I'm thinking this kid is going to blow chunks any second.....finally the lady stops reading...looks at him and says, "Are you done? or are you sick?" REALLY!?!?!?! Kid nods and tries to say sick as he starts to dry heave again....luckily another teacher had a brain and removed said kid....I seriously don't think he made it to the office, but I wasn't brave enough to find out. So, we started over for the 3rd time. Ady and I ran out of there when it was done. As exciting as that was I will leave out the additional drama, not sure the mom would appreciate me posting about it....let's just say I have a nice bruise on my arm and I'm a "bit" traumatized....just kidding :) I love this little man.

I will be nice and not point out sick kid. :)

2 month Well Baby

This cutie had his 2 month well visit yesterday. He measured in at 11 pounds 10 ounces (50%) 23 1/2 inches (80%). He's getting so big! We broke down and got the reflux medication. I gave it to him last night (this stuff smells like peppermint) let's just say he screamed for 30 minutes!!! I gave it to him again this morning and he seemed to be okay....keeping fingers crossed. He did sleep a bit better last night, so I'm hoping within a few days he'll be much more content.

Bennett LOVES Warren, is an understatement. He almost loves him too much, so I am always looking for ways for him to show love, softer and safer. So the other day I put Warren down on his blanket so he could play with Bennett. It went very well. Notice Bennett shared his toys!!!!

Good playdate brother!

I got this shirt for 75 cents and thought it would be a fun picture. Plus it's long sleeve and for some reason I have very few warm clothes in 3 months.

And since I was bugging him for pictures I quickly threw his blessing outfit on. This was actually Matt's but I didn't need a 4th blessing outfit, so I used this one. If I get a chance I want to take a picture of him in Bennett's and Tanner's too at some point....soon.

Gas or a smile.......8 weeks old!

I always tell myself I will take pictures of my babies in the cute clothes given to them and then send them as thank you notes to the people that gave them to me. Well it never happens but I was determined to with Warren. Unfortunately he has all ready grown out of a few of them....drats! But I took this picture for my friend Erica and had to smile because it looks like he is smiling. In reality he is upset I haven't picked him up yet, but we will call it a smile and enjoy it. As for Warren, he goes in for his 2 month check up next week. I can't wait to see his stats. He loves to eat and is growing like a weed. He's out of all of his newborn clothes and is almost too long for some of his 0-3 month clothes. Nicknames you ask?!?! I like to call this little guy Wall-E, but Bennett says WaWa. Other than that he gets the normal...little man, stinky, bugga boo, bubba. I had someone tell me he looks like Bennett with dark hair, others see Ady in him. It's funny because there are many times he looks like Ady did at this age (weird, how does that happen?!?!) but he also looks like Matt to me. If I am ambitious I will find pictures of all the kids at this age and you can decide.

How many times do I have to tell you......

.....to keep the pantry closed!!!!!! I sat down to feed the baby and Matt got something out of the pantry. I reminded him for the I don't know how many times, but a lot....to close the pantry. Before I knew it I turned around to find this......marshmellows. And the culprit is......

......surprise, surprise. Two is such a fun age. Oh and was he eating them?!?! Of-course not, he was stabbing them with a mini screwdriver to see how many he could get on.

YUM.....peanut butter

I was in the office paying bills and came out to find Bennett sitting on the counter content. :)

YAY!!!! I LOVE peanut butter!

In the shower you go....thanks goodness he's cute.

Ogden Loves

Mindy told me about an awesome Groupon deal. Ogden's Dinopark year family pass for $28. I'd never been there, but figured for $28 if we went 2 times I'd beyond pay for itself. We met up with Mike and Mindy on Friday and it was AWESOME. Bennett was in LOVE. He loves dinosaurs and his favorite show is dinosaur train. He walked around pointing at everything in AWE.

This kiddos. Matt was with my parents and Tanner was wandering on his own. We pretty much had the park to ourselves.

This was the best picture I got of this part inside. Bennett loved it and we spent almost 30 minutes here.

Speaking of Ogden loves. My niece and nephew live in Ogden and now that they are teenagers we don't see them as often as we'd like. My nephew Seth came down for a visit and he got to meet Warren for the first time. Too bad he was getting sick so this is as good as is got.

Jr Jazz

Tanner loves basketball and is always asking to play Jr Jazz. He usedc to play, but it's been a few years, so we signed him up again. I got to go to one of his games and it was fun to watch him. He's improving a lot.

Happy 1/11/11

This morning my Mom came over and organized chores with the kids so I could spend most of the morning doing laundry and feeding Warren...thanks mom!! Results were clean rooms, clean laundry in drawers (not baskets on my floor) and a happy WaWa. The afternoon was spent chillin'. The kids played Wii upstairs and Benno sat in his favorite chair eating popcorn and watching tv. This boy is funny. The other morning about 3 am we heard a little knock on our bedroom door. Benno was there for his "snuggle" with Daddy. He's in his big boy bed so he has the ability to come when he needs to. He is super good about going to bed and staying for the most part. We still have a few late night snuggle calls. He's starting to talk better. He says pop for popcorn, mama (I am super happy about this one) football, the rest are just balls. Yah, Doh (he must get that from homer, but his "n"s are still coming.) Davis' Dad says he says Grandpa, but I have yet to hear it....sorry Gordon. He LOVES WaWa and makes sure he is taken care of. He is more than happy to give him kisses, his binkie or anything else he thinks he needs. I've been putting Warren on a blanket for a little while and Bennett makes sure WaWa has a car (on his chest) to play with and Bennett "vroom vrooms" all over him. It's pretty cute! He gets concerned if he cries and won't have it. He will push him in his swing, put the vibration/music on in the bouncy, gives him a binkie and if that doesn't work he comes and finds Mom. He is a great helper and a good listener. He's super obedient but Davis said all our kids were at this age.....I have forgotten if they were...all I know is they aren't very good now.

I thought this was pretty cute! I want to frame it for my wall. When asked if I could put Warren in the picture Matt said, "NO!" Oh well, maybe next time.

Resolutions

I have to admit I'm not a huge fan of resolutions...mainly because I'm not very good at them. :) I still have last years resolutions hanging in my kitchen...let's just say I might as well keep them up another year or two.

BUT, I am a little bit discouraged right now. Davis gave me an ipod for Christmas and he put the Lose It app on it. He's determined to use it and since I want to be super supportive and lose weight too, I decided we would do it together. Let's just say that today was the first day and it's super frustrating. I know I am a poor eater, I love love love sugar and other unhealthy foods. I tried super hard not to snack today and to eat a fairly good breakfast and lunch (I'm too bummed to go make dinner.) and I was seriously out of calories after the peanut butter cookies we made for a snack. I only ate 5 (seriously this is amazing for me.) But I didn't eat/snack all day, I tried to be super good, but I realized that this SUCKS! I guess I could totally throw in the towel and rationalize the fact that I am nursing a baby...had a baby 4 weeks ago and I can technically fit into my pre-baby pants all ready. I am down to my pre pregnancy weight (give or take 5-7 lbs, but I blame that on the "twins" I use to feed him, they are never this heavy. :) LOL) But I also came to the conclusion that I am 15 lbs heavier than I should've been when I got pregnant and I'm super not healthy. So, I am going to use this challenge in 2011 to be more aware of what I eat (doesn't mean I won't eat it) but I am going to be more aware. I am going to try to eat better and eat less sugar. I am going to feed my husband better. Yes I make my kids eat things for dinner that Davis and I don't eat...mainly vegetables. I have some I hate and some I love. For some reason the ones I hate are the only ones Davis likes. That and I can be totally lazy by the time dinner rolls around that I hurry and scarf the main dish, go feed Warren and then graze on sugar the rest of the night. This I am determined to STOP! I also need to excercise, I hate to excercise.....We'll see how it goes. I'm sure no one will notice a change but me, but that's okay, I want to be healthier, not neccessarily skinnier. But if I can fit into smaller pants, I won't complain.
So here's to a healthier Year 2011. I'm sure that I have other things I need to work on, but those will come too. Maybe consuming less sugar will give me more energy to play with my kids and excercising will help me from getting so frustrated!!!!

On a side note: Warren was born at 6 lbs 10 oz; left the hospital at 6 lbs 7 oz. Weighed in at his 2 week checkup at 7 lbs 1 oz. then turned around 2 days later for his circumcision (merry christmas buddy) and weighed 7 lbs 5 oz. I weighed him on the home scale (I know not too accurate) and he's over 8 lbs now. Can I say this boy LOVES to eat. I spend all day nursing and I have a love hate relationship with it. When he's not eating he wants to be held so unless Ady is willing, he cries while I switch laundry. I wait until Davis is home to make dinner and fold it. Oh well, this time will go FAST!

Hello 2011

I haven't been very good at taking pictures...I get so busy talking and enjoying the company that I forget. So I took a few off my mom's camera. For New Years Eve, I took the kids to my Aunts church (around 10 am)to meet the CUZS. Two of my cousins drove in from CA with their families. It was so nice to see them, expecially the one that I hadn't seen since Bennett was a week old. Yes, I know I have a new baby now and I told her we needed to make a better schedule of seeing each other.
Basically the kids and adults played tons of games. Not sure what Tanner and Ady are doing.
This would be the shark game again. My kids love it, especially Ady.
Good Luck Sharky...I think Roque out weighs you by 100+ pounds. :)

My Cousin Tam.

Dodgeball...I wasn't playing but there were many times I had to dodge the ball and protect myself and Warren.

My cute tired boy!!!

My cousins little girl is a bit older than Bennett and she was so fascinated and in love with Warren (her 11 yr old daughter was too, but Ididn't get a picture.)
After playing for hours at the church I took me kids home for a break and then we headed to my cousins house when Davis got home. We had a fabulous dinner and the company was exceptional. I could've sat and talked all night...but that wasn't the plan. We dragged our kiddos to the Provo Towne Center for FUN!!! Let's just say that the lines were way too long for my kiddos, but what they got to do they loved. I think they would've stayed much longer. The first thing we did was the bouncy slide. I think they would've done this for hours, but we dragged them away to stand in lines. :) LOL
Ady and my Mom stood in one line....Tanner, Matt and I stood in another and Davis walked the mall with the double stroller trying to contain Benno and keep Warren from screaming. I got through my like first and the boys all got balloon swords (sorry no pics). Then we hopped lines with my mom for face painting. This is what Bennos looked like the second he jumped down....oh well.
Pretty cool Matthew.
That's Davis' boy!!!!!
Cute Ady. I got Ady a balloon hat flower thing that she loved and I wasn't going to wait in another line.

Right after this we left. The kids weren't thrilled but it was almost 10 and Davis and Tanner were getting up at 5 am to go ice fishing with our neighbors, so we went home.
