I love to see the temple

We are in the new Oquirrh Mountain Temple district and have had many opportunities to see this lovely temple. Our ward has been assigned TONS of shifts to facilitate the open house. Every 15 days we have certain requirements to fill. The first time I got to go I was scheduled just outside the celestial room. It was an amazing experience, especially since the person from our stake scheduled to the celestial room is our Patriarch and also the person who helped design part of the temple. It was the last one he worked on before retirement and he was a wealth of knowledge. He's also a BIG TIME TALKER!!!! Those 4 hours were amazing. My second "ushering" shift was down in the baptistry...this too was an amazing experience. We fianlly took our family to tour it on July 8th (Tanner's birthday). The kids loved it and it was fun to show them where Mom and Dad have and wll be spending much of their time. The following day Davis and I had a 4 hour assignment in the sealing room where we had to give a 5 minute talk on the temple to people touring. It was a neat experience. We get to do this again on the 25th and I look forward to it. The other nice thing about this small temple being OUR temple, we have MANY opportunities to serve in it. We have assignments to do laundry, grounds maintenance, cleaning and other things. Basically the stakes do EVERYTHING for these temples. I know it'll take lots of time/service amd such, but it's neat to have this temple so close for us to use.

Our Family!!!!
Cute kids
Tanner...Happy 8th Birthday!!!!

Tanner took this picture. Om our way to the open house Tanner informs us that Angel Moroni got hit by lightning. Davis and I didn't believe him but as we got closer we got a good look at it. The next day at our training we were talking to a guy over the temple stuff and he said there is a lightning rod going down the head and the ligthning hit the trump so they will put another rod in the trump and replate the whole thing. Tanner thought this was one of the coolest things he'd ever seen. Also if you ask Ady her favorite part of the temple she will say, "That cookie was so yummy!!!!" Ah gotta love kids!

The beginning of July

A few weeks ago I took the kids to the zoo with Davis' Mom, sister McKell, sister Kiersti-kids Lauren and Mya, and sister in law Heidi and her kids Lexi, Will and Jones. It was great for the first 10 minutes. Then we took cover at the carousel while it POURED rain like I've never seen before. We made a mad dash to the reptile house where we took cover until it drizzled and then finished the zoo in about 15 minutes. It was cold, wet and fun. Guess we'll try to go again when it's not raining.

Crazy looking kids...whose weirdos are these?!?!?!

Ahhhhh, sibling love.

Then on the 4th we headed to Alpine for the annual barbeque. Davis' grandparents have a barbeque every holiday starting with Memorial Day and ending with Labor Day. It was a small group this year and Bennett finally got to meet his cousin (if that's what you call it when it's his Dad's cousin's kid...) We'll say cousin just for fun.

Landon and Bennett-Landon is 2 weeks older and 10 lbs heavier. I held him for about 5 minutes and thought my arm would fall off....look at those cute legs and cheeks. I loved kissing those cute cheeks.

Cute boys!!!!
Bennett showing off his crawling skills. He normally army crawls, but didn't like the grass.

Eating Landon's hat. Bennett loves to put EVERYTHING in his mouth and I mean everything. By way of documenting. About a month ago Bennett was crawling around and Davis picked him up, noticed a hair clip in his mouth just as it went down the throat. Bennett started to gag and dry heave. We were freaking out he was choking. He was breathing okay, but in obvious distress. I ran the kids to the neighbors house and off we went to the doctors. We got there and they informed us the x-ray machine was an hour out, so we had to take him to the ER. 3 hours and $700 later (don't forget we have no insurance) the doctor let's us know they see nothing on the x-ray...bye bye!!!!! I checked his poop for the whole month...nothing. We still have no idea what Davis saw and or what it was he was choking on.....Davis swears he saw the hair clip and that Bennett has amazing digestion. Oh well, guess we'll never know.

James'

Since I have a few minutes I'll document a bit of our going ons. Davis and I have season tickets to Hale Center Theatre. The last show we went to we ran into a couple that used to live by us in Tuscany (townhomes, not Italy, darn it) about 6 years ago. I chatted with them during intermission and then after the show. We exchanged information and went on our way. I kept thinking to call them, but as tiem went on, I kept forgetting. Lucky for me she called and we scheduled a "date". We went up to their house in Ogden and had an awesome weenie roast around firepit. Unfortunately I was too busy being social and eating, I forgot to take pictures. We soon watched the clouds roll in, hurried and cleaned up, closed the doors just as the rain hit and boy did it come!!!! YIKES!!! At this point we gave the babies baths in the sink. (my picture of Lydia and Bennett) put a movie on, popped popcorn and the adults got to play a game. It was so much fun and great to see the James' again. When we knew them we only had Tanner and they had their oldest Porter while living down the street from us. They have a boy Ady's age and Lydia who is just older than Benentt. The kids did great!!!! Thanks for the great time Kristal and Jared, we'll have to do it again, soon.

Tanner is getting baptized

Tanner is getting baptized and I had to share the amazing invite my friend Toni did. Isn't she AWESOME!!!!! I took out all the information, but you get the idea. (If you want to come and didn't get an email....email me at addisonsmommy@gmail.com)
I can't believe Tanner is turning 8. He's is growing up so fast. He is very excited about his baptism. I think that's all he's been talking about for the past year, but especially this last month. He met with the Bishop and had been "extra" good lately. I am loving it. The other day I asked him to unload the dishwasher and he said, "Okay!" WOW, I was shocked. LOL Tanner is such a sweetheart. He is my sensitive child and easily gets his feelings hurt (I'm not always sure how to handle this, since I had all brothers.) He is also very social and kind. We went to the school carnival this year and so many kids came up to say "Hi" to him. Davis and I joke that he walks around like he's running for class president. He's an amazing big brother. I am sure it was a total shock at nearly 4 when he got a new sister and then before long a new brother...it was a double whammy and his lap time with Mom got diminished. He'll still occasionally snuggle by me if there is no one else there, which is extremely rare, but he tries to find those rare moments. Lately we have enjoyed playing "big kid" games with him. We've tried to find games he can play with just Davis and I. With it being summer we'll let him stay up late and play with us a game or two. He is liking that very much. Man, I love this kid. He really is a sweetie. Can't wait for this week to party. His birthday is Wednesday, we are having a "My Dad is better than your Dad" party on Friday with come close friends and then his baptism on Saturday...busy busy busy...but fun too!

Swim Lessons

We've been doing swim lessons for a while now. Tanner started off and passed Level 1 &2. He then went to Level 3A while Ady and Matt took Toddler1. Tanner then moves to 3B while the little ones stayed in the Toddler1-2 class. One more round of each and Tanner passed of 3B moving to 4A and Ady advanced to Toddler Advanced. Matt is still stuck in Toddler 1-2 and VERY MAD Ady is no longer in his class. They all enjoy swimming. Tanner is by far the best, but Ady is pretty good for her age. Matthew still hates getting his face wet. LOL

This is the only shot of Ady. I couldn't get her with her face out of the water, she LOVES to swim.

Ady's 4th birthday

Ady turned 4 on Memorial Day, so we had cake and icecream with the family on Sunday and friends on Tuesday. She LOVED every minute of it. I don't have tons of great pictures, but oh well. Since I am not in the mood to move pictures around you get them this way. This is the friend party, they were cute little fairies.
Hugs for presents.

I think this is the only "shy" picture I have ever seen of my daughter, so enjoy it. LOL This is the cake Aunt McKell made. So cute. Better picture later on.
Happy Girl!!!!!!!

Choo Choo

The other day Ady and Matt emptied all of my baskets to make a choo choo train. It was pretty funny. Not so funny the 10th time when I had to clean up all the stuff, but oh well. As you can see Bennett didn't love it, but they wanted him to play so bad.

Park

Today I took the kids to the park. Here are Matt and Ady riding the scooters they got from Grandma and Poppie.Bennett riding comfortably in the stroller. He was happy to have the strap to chew on.

Friends swining together. They tried to hold hands...not going to work..kiddos.
Bennett's first ride in a swing. He enjoyed it.
Pushing my brother. It was fun to watch Matthew trying to push him.
First ride on the slide...thanks sister!!!!When we got home, Matthew asked for watermelon. I cut this small piece,
turned around and here he was.
And more of Bennett. He is almost 6 months old and just a fun little guy. He loves to eat and has gotten to eat many foods. He even had a smartie today as I heard Matt say, "Mommy, Bennett likes smarties too!!!" As much as I try I can't win. Ady and Matt are very busy and without holding Bennett 24/7 I can't do much more than try to keep him alive. Matt is overly loving and and nearly smothered him on occasions. He tries to pick him up and carry him around and he is giving me a HUGE headache and an ulcer of worry. Sigh, I love Bennett being a baby and wouldn't want to wish it away, but seriously can't wait for him to get big enough to hold his own.

This NEVER happens at my house!!!

That would be that my kids NEVER nap at the same time. So this is Matt, he's been like this for a little while, so I'm sure it won't last much longer.
And FINALLY Ady (who nevr naps...gave up.) and Bennett.....YAY!!!!!!
So I better do something productive, since this won't last long.

Thanks Aunt Heidi!!!!!

As most of you know I have a love/hate relationship with Adylin's hair. It is gorgeous, but very difficult to do when she screams 24/7. She hates having it washed, combed, anything. So yesterday I took her to my sister in laws house to get it cut. She has curly hair and I thought if anyone could do something, it would be her. I think she did a great job. I do miss hte length a bit, but love that it was easier to wash, comb and style. YAY! I guess she can have it long again when she is willing to a) deal with Mom doing it or b) able to do it herself. :) LOL

So a BIG THANKS to Aunt Heidi for cute hair and making Ady feel like a princess again.

It's not Ady without a silly face.

Happy Easter

I didn't take any Easter pictures...sorry. Okay, one but it has nothing to do with Easter. So we'll start with the first pictures. My SIL got a new puppy and he came to play. He LOVED Bennett and Bennett liked him until he put his nose in his crotch...it was funny.
Tanner LOVED the puppy and kept asking when he was getting one.

Now for our Easter picture. So, we went to church and in sacrament meeting Ady was a not so good listener and she slammed her face on the pew. I rushed out of the meeting with her bleeding. YAY MOM! She had a nice fat lip and was just fine. I totally spaced getting a picture when we got home. We hurried to my mom's for lunch and games with my Uncle who was here from CA. After a few awesome hands of spades I took the kids to the in-laws. Davis met us there and we had a nice ham dinner. When it was time to leave I was rounding up the kids and Davis took Bennett out. I finally got Tanner out the door and was welcomed by Davis holding a huge chunk of wipes against Matt's face. "He cut it pretty bad," was all he said. I guess Matthew was following Davis out to the car and as Davis opened the automatic doors, the came back and smacked Matthew in the head. I took a quick picture and we were off to have a guy in our ward look at it and tell us if we HAD to have stitches. We have no insurance right now so we were secretly hoping a few butterfly bandages would be good. No such luck!!!! We were lucky not to have to go to the ER I called our doctors office (who is open on Sundays...yay for us) and they told us to come in. 20 minutes later (I have never been in and out so fast.) We had 5 staples. HAPPY EASTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You might not be able to see it but there is a huge scratch on his cheek, thanks to cousin Isabelle. LOL

Surprise!!!!!

Yes I am posting. Life is crazy and blogging is low on the totem pole. I seriously can't remember the last time I checked anybodys blog....today I did, YAY FOR ME!!! Part of the problem would be children and the lack of naps. Thus my time to do anything diminishes FAST. Then there is important things like laundry, dishes and meals. Oh well, one day I might get to blog again. In the mean time enjoy what you get. Or as Ady says (and this only applies to everyone BUT her) "You get what you get and you don't throw a fit." Yes, so this is what you get. To reiterate my point of time spent....I just downloaded pictures from my camera...someone got ahold of it and this is one of many pictures I got EXIBIT #1
EXIBIT #2 Let me tell you a almost NEVER leave this child alone for this reason. I will put money in the bank saying Matthew was to blame.....and yes that is my baby under the coffee table SCREAMING!!!!!!
So you don't think he looks like that often. This is Bennett much happier. He is 4 months...yes you heard right, 4 MONTHS old now and just a fun little bucket of joy!!!!
In his easter outfit Abby got him...too bad it won't fit much longer, but that's okay, it's cute!!!

Matthew had his 3rd birthday a few weeks ago. All he talked about coming up to it was Ben10 alien force, that's what he wanted. But let me ask you, do they carry anything Ben10 for birthdays?!?!!? The answer would be NO! So I went to Target and found some toys and my awesome sister in law made this fabulous cake for him. He was THRILLED and so happy about it.

Well, I am having a tough time with the pictures, so this is waht you get right now. That and bucket of JOY just woke up. LOL
