Layton Fun!!!!

Yesterday I drove up to Layton with the kids. We met Mindy at her house....Mindy is Davis' cousin's wife. Anyway, we went to a strawberry patch by her house and picked a flat of strawberries. I've always wanted to do things like this, but never knew where to go. Fortunately, my friend came to this same patch last week and told me about it, so Mindy and I were thrilled to work it into our visit. The downside...super hot. The kids were pretty hot and worn out fast. Bennett just wanted to eat strawberries, so Mindy gave him a jerk to keep him busy for a minute.

Josh started out in our stroller but gor fussy fast, so Mindy took a potty break with Ady, Matt and Katelyn and brought back his carseat....SMART. Which left the stroller for Bennett, though he wasn't too happy to be in it.

Tanner was a trooper and loved picking the strawberries. After the kids got super hot and cranky he sat in the car with them so I didn't stress about turning it on so they could have air and watch a movie.

Matt enjoyed the patch, but had to go potty really soon into it and complained about needing water....lame Mom didn't even think to bring water, but I did bring an icechest so they sucked on ice for a little while.

Bennett finding strawberries too eat.

This was at the very beginning with Josh in the stroller and Mindy picking away.

Ady showing her find. She did really well for awhile but mostly enjoyed walking around with Katelyn.

Katelyn picked a few.

Cousin hugs! This was the first time they met and they were instant friends. They had tons of fun playing at the patch and then at Katelyn's house.

Another shot of Mindy. I had the camera so I got to take pictures, I didn't have to be in them.

After the patch we headed back to Mindy's for lunch and to play in her backyard. The kids had a ball and when it was time to pick fresh peas and lettuce out of her garden (sorry no pics) Tanner ate more than he out in the bag. He loves fresh peas and was in heaven. None of our peas made it this year, but we are bound and determined to try again.
Mindy and I got lots of talking it. She just got back from girls camp (she was the director this year) and we discussed all that they did and what we have planned. It was great and I am more excited to go. She's thrilled hers it over.
Look at that delish food. We came home and made peas and potatoes, salad and kababs for dinner. It was wonderful.

How fun, I have always wanted to do that. Maybe I will have to find out the place you went to so I can go to. Have fun eating it all.
